World Cup 2006 Photos Day 10

Here we are, the last day. It's been a long road. Today we woke up in Budapest, then drove to Vienna through Sopron, and then flew to Frankfurt. We're at the hotel now getting ready for our last night before heading to the airport tomorrow to go home. It's been great. Maya is here with the Inn keepers in Budapest. They were wonderful people and really enjoyed spending time with Maya. As you can probably tell she enjoyed them just as much.

We had lunch in Sopron before walking around a bit. This photo is my last beer of the trip. Gosser, which is an Austrian beer. I've got a glass to bring back with me. Sopron is just about on the border between Austria and Hungary, but it is on the Hungarian side. I tried to get rid of my remaining Forints in Sopron before saying hello again to the Euro.

While walking through the small streets in Sopron we walked by this lady. I should have stopped and taken a proper photo, I could have gotten a better one. I'm not so good at asking permission for photos yet, especially in Hungarian! So I snapped this one real quick without looking through the viewfinder. Considering that it captured the moment, as this lady came from the shadows to peer through her window at us walking by.

Surprise, a playground! Maya seems to be able to find these bad boys without any problem.

This is the main square in Sopron. Once we found it we enjoyed walking around. It wasn't easy to locate. Sopron is a nice sized town with this in the middle. But, you can really drive in, so we had to find a space outside the old part of town and walk in. Eventually we got it, and I'm glad we did. It was a plesant way to spend the afternoon.

This photo is 180 degrees around from the last. It is a cool spot.

Thats it. After a few hours in Sopron we headed to Vienna. We decided to get there early so we could sit around and relax some. We're a bit tired of all this traveling. I probably won't have anymore photos since tomorrow is just a cab ride to the airport to catch our flight at 12:20. So thats about it. Shortly after I get home I'll get a lot more photos up, my standard hundreds. I just tried to get a few each day that best captured what we did or what we saw. This was a great trip, 11 days and 4 countries in the end. Eastern Europe is well worth visiting, oh, and so is the World Cup!
